It was a TV documentary. I'm sorry I don't recall the title.
There's also "Empire of the Summer Moon" about the migrations around the southern US.
The accounts of how the Commanche lived nearly all come from accounts written by white people who lived among them (often taken as slaves by the Commanche).
See "Empire of the Summer Moon", by Gwynne. A truly fantastic epic. I'm amazed nobody has made this into a miniseries yet.

This would make an epic miniseries!
Wouldn't it be better to read actual accounts of criminals, rather than fictional accounts? I.e. make it a documentary?
I bet many documentaries would make far more compelling cinema than any made up story. For example, "Empire of the Summer Moon". What a great epic that story is. And it really happened.
> I've been listening since close to the start. I much prefer the episodes around science, music and nutrition but this is HN after all.
Same here, the casual comedian/friend guest are usually cookie cutter episodes with small rants about their current lives (AND obligatory 15 min segment on how crazyup Comanche were and how badly they are mis-treated now - Empire of the Summer Moon - :) ).
