The show's plot is lously based on the second movie, Futureworld, that, as in the show, takes places years after the incident at the park that got it shut down.
Also the idea of the hosts trying to run from the park disguised by real humans is taken from FW.
And there the similarities end.
The POV is quite different from the Westworld movie.
I would say that they are different like D.A.R.Y.L. and The Terminator are.
Same setup, but different settings, era, technology, storytelling and overall tone.
Rule 34 being what it is, there is an adult version of Westworld called Sexworld (1978) and it's not too shabby, they threw enough budget and production values at it to make it interesting. It explores the theme of what happens when you get to live out your fantasies in some surprising ways. The movie can be found online in the usual places.
Also, the list left off Futureworld (1976) which is much better than Westworld and featured some CGI that was ground-breaking for the time.
I feel like Futureworld (the second Westworld Movie) had a better concept for what should follow Westworld. The movie is bad and was critically panned, but at least it kept to a working formula, rather than using it as a jumping off point into areas nobody was asking about.
Westworld Season 2+ felt like writers wanting to create a different show and had the Westworld cast as their canvas.
If you want to see more of it in video, it's also where the opening scene to "The Avengers" was filmed.
It's appeared in a lot of movies, "Futureworld" (1973) being one of the first.
That's where the nuclear rocket upper stage for Apollo was supposed to be tested.
