I wasn't even aware some places had prohibited pinball until I saw "Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game". Great movie.

They made a drama comedy faux-documentary about it a few years ago titled _Pinball: The Man Who Saved The Game_. It's cute, regardless of your investment into pinball as a whole.

There’s a fairly recent movie [0] that charmingly dramatizes the efforts of New York City activist Roger Sharpe to overturn the city’s ban. It’s aesthetically satisfying and good-humored, and it weaves a fair amount of history into a lighthearted good time.

And if you like the Tetris movie I also recommend "Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game". About the guy who got New York City's long-time ban on pinball machines overturned, by proving that pinball was a game of skill, not chance.

On a bit of a tangent, pinball was banned in NYC until 1976 - ostensibly because it was viewed more as a form of gambling then skill. A movie - "Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game" was released last year and is based on the efforts of Roger Sharpe, a GQ editor, to overturn that ban. [0][1][2]
