Similar setup with the submarine in Terminator Salvation.

Too bad that movie was terrible, terrible, terrible. Worst movie in the franchise IMHO.

No, I think it is from the awful mess that was "Terminator:Salvation" based on the file name (I can't recall the screen from the film, but then again it's a film that it is best to just forget. Go watch Terminator: The Sarah Connor chronicles instead while waiting for T5):

"Worse yet, the way things are going, it’s only a matter of time until alpha insurgencies like Hezbollah and the Zetas have their own fleets of armed or kamikaze drones."

And who will make and sell them those drones? Probably the same companies that are selling them to the US Army today. The way things are going right now, I envision warfare in the future being much like in the Terminator Salvation movie. The only difference is that the "machines" might not be self-aware (although they could be automatic), but they will be controlled by other humans. But in places where the war will actually happen, all you'll see is a battle between machines and men being slaughtered by them.

Almost all books are better than movies, even novelizations based on movies are often better - "Revenge of the Sith", "Ironman", and "Terminator Salvation" for examples are all much better than the movies. The only times I have seen movies that were as good, or better than, the novel were where they were very different.
