I have not see the posted video, but this documentary, It's Quieter in the Twilight, was great. The Farthest was also excellent.

Voyager is the highest technical achievement of humankind to this day. Amount of knowledge we gained from that shuttle, run by a computer having a power of the computer that we have today in our car keys, is invaluable.

Let it fly in peace, maybe, some day, it will be only reminiscence of our civilization and planet Earth, crossing the universe...

There is a great documentary about Voyager- The Farthest - highly recommended.

There's a nice 2017 documentary about Voyager called The Farthest [1]. It includes interviews with many of the now very old team members, and they do exude (deserved) pride, and a still fresh sense of wonder that they pulled it off.

It's not particularly "deep", but The Farthest [1] is a nicely constructed documentary of the Voyager program featuring interviews with many of the relevant people.

I seem to recall from the documentary "The Farthest" that Voyager actually transmits data almost continuously, but that most of it is lost forever because the capable ground stations are only ever tuned to it for brief, scheduled windows.

Re>> "The scientists who undertook this project knew it was the next generation that would benefit from the knowledge"

Yes. The scope/lifetime of the spacecraft was only to explore the outer planets. The scientists and engineers who designed and built it took it upon themselves to ensure it could stay within the budgetary constraints and exceed the mission scope. Everyone interested in Voyager should watch the documentary "The Farthest" - great documentary!

Not a comment of the article itself, but for anyone interested in both Voyagers, PBS recently did a great documentary called "The Farthest". I highly recommend it.

Neat timing on this resubmit. I just watched The Farthest on a flight this week. It's a neat movie that gives interesting (and human) context to the mission and those who executed it. I'd definitely recommend it as a watch for anyone even nominally interested in space exploration.

For anyone with an interest in Voyager, I highly recommend Emer Reynolds film, "The Farthest". This documentary is brilliant, beautiful, and funny - and I guarantee that you will learn something that you didn't know about Voyager!

For those in the UK, it's currently streaming on iPlayer - though it should ideally be seen in cinemas to be fully appreciated.
